What are school hours? Students should arrive at school between 8:20 and 8:35. Dismissal begins around 3:17.
Dismissal changes.. If you need to change your child's dismissal procedure or pick them up from school early, please send in a written note with your child to school. A note will help notify the office and assure a smooth transition at the end of the day. If there is no note sent in, the child will be dismissed as usual.
Is there a school dress code? Students are expected to wear close toe shoes everyday to school for safety reasons. More information can be found on our district website.
How can my child receive breakfast and/ or lunch? As of the 2014-2015 school year, all students are eligible for free breakfast at school. Wilbur is peanut free.... please do not send food with peanut products or peanut butter with your student. Lunch: Students are also eligible for free lunch at school. or students many bring a lunch from home. . A lunch menu can be found on our school website. If a student wants a snack at lunch or anything extra, they must bring in money. Money can be brought in daily or be pre-paid and held in your child's account. Please place money or checks in an envelope labeled with your child's name, class and ID number.
What does my child need for school everyday? Please send your child to school with their back pack and folder everyday. Also, please make sure you child is dressed appropriately for the weather. (Jacket, hat, gloves, ect) ** Please send in an extra pair of clothes for your child to keep in their locker. In the event of an accident, this will make for a smooth transition to finish the day. **
Can I volunteer in my child's classroom? Volunteers are always welcome at Wilbur Elementary! There are may opportunities (be a regular scheduled volunteer, come in for special days, volunteer from home or field trips......to name just a few) Please contact me if you are interested!
Birthdays and celebrations? Student birthdays and Holidays around the world will be recognized in our classroom. However, individual celebrations including outside food/ treats are not permitted in the classroom due to district policy. If you are interested in providing a birthday or holiday treat for the class you are can order items directly from the cafeteria. Please give at least one week notice for ordering. Can my child bring in toys? Please do NOT allow your child to bring in personal items, especially toys into school. This will prevent problems with items being lost or broken. Electronic devices or items deemed a safety risk may be taken by administration and the parent will be contacted.
